Exercise Your Mind!
Teen Summer Reading @ Bedford Free Public Library
Summer is a time to read! Between June 20th and August 29th, read and review books for entries into weekly and grand prize raffles. Everyone going into grades 6th through 12th in the Fall is welcome!
Register: You must register to participate! Register online or at the Reference Desk in the Bedford Free Public Library.
Read: Any books read between June 20th and August 29th count! What you read is up to you! Required reading for school counts. So do graphic novels (for comics, one bound trade volume like this, not single issues) and manga (one manga volume), audiobooks, ebooks, and non-fiction. If you don’t know what to pick, look for displays in the Teen Area or ask Teen Librarian Pam for a recommendation.
Review: Each review (at least 3 sentences long, and not just a summary of the story!) that you write is a raffle entry. Turn them in at the Reference Desk at the Bedford Free Public Library or via the online submission form. Additional forms are available at the Reference Desk. Read submitted reviews online or in the Teen Area to find out what other teens are reading.
Win: Every review is a raffle entry. Each week, a small prize will be raffled off, drawn from that week’s submissions. All entries are entered into the drawing for the grand prizes. See what the grand prizes are!
Bingo: Complete challenges on the Go for the Gold Bingo board to earn entries into the raffles. One book may count for multiple challenges, as long as it meets the criteria. You may earn up to five entries by completing bingos. Earn a special prize for blacking out the entire board! To claim a bingo, stop by the Reference Desk in the Bedford Free Public Library or fill out this form.
Volunteer: The Children’s Summer Reading Program needs lots of teen help! There are a variety of activities and times available. Each volunteer shift worked will give you an entry into that week’s mini-raffle. To sign-up, visit the Children’s Room at the Bedford Free Public Library.
