Thief of Time (a Discworld novel)
3 out of 5
Thief of Time is one of many installations in Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. The only connection between most of these books is the (disc)world that they live on, and a couple of the same locations and folklore. This makes it easy to jump back and forth between books, as they can all stand on their own, but have just enough of his writing style to be recognizable. I liked the return of some of my favorite characters, as well as some of the new ones introduced, but felt that it was lacking the essential Discworld-ness that the other books carried. The ending was quite abrupt, and some of the character development seemed to be thrown in just for the heck of it. It was still a humorous, fun read, but parts could’ve been explored more.
