The Meaning of Maggie
Megan Jean Sovern
4 out of 5
Eleven-year-old Maggie Mayfield wants to know more than she does. She wants to be able to do more than she can right now. Maggie plans to be the President of the United States someday. So why can’t she fix the real-life problems she’s facing now? Maggie’s father is sick with Multiple Sclerosis, a disease with no cure. Can an eleven-year-old girl really cure her father’s life-threatening illness? Or will her victory be denied? One thing is for certain, though–Maggie Mayfield, future President of the United States, can do absolutely anything if she puts her mind to it. I liked this book, and my favorite character was Mary Winter. I would recommend this book to girls from ages 11-13.
