Curse of the Bane (The Last Apprentice book 2)
5 out of 5
Curse of the Bane is the exciting second novel in the series The Last Apprentice, by Joseph Delaney. The Last Apprentice is about Thomas J Ward, apprentice of the County Spook, who helps defend the county from boggarts, witches, ghasts, ghosts and other creatures of the dark. In Curse of The Bane, Tom Ward travels with the Spook to forever rid Priestown of the Bane, a evil shape-shifting creature that the Spook has not been able to defeat even in his prime. This creature locked in the catacombs under Priestown, tormenting and corrupting the minds of the people above. At Priestown they meet another enemy called the Quisitor. The Quisitor is a bad man accusing people of being witches and wants to hunt down the County Spook. Thomas Ward and the Spook must defeat both of their enemies in this suspenseful book.
I liked this novel because it is spooky enough to get at your nerves, but not too scary and dark. Also it is very suspenseful and exciting. The novel:The Last Apprentice: Curse of the Bane is an excellent sequel to the first book in the series.
