The Total Tragedy of a Girl Named Hamlet

The Total Tragedy of a Girl Named Hamlet

Hamlet Kennedy wants to be normal, but that’s something that no one can change. It’s not her, it’s her parents. They wear Elizabethan clothes and don’t use contractions, or as Hamlet would have to say, do not. Hamlet’s sister, a seven year old know it all, skipped all the grades until eighth grade. And then there’s the mean girls, Saber and Mauri. They’ll do anything to humiliate Hamlet. Especially if it has to do with her parents. I think this book leans a teensy bit more for girls. It really is a great book. I give it a double thumbs up! I hope you like mac & cheese, cause it’s about to get mac & cheese crazy up in the Kennedy “klan.”

Madeline is a young girl, and just wants to go to graduation. As soon as she leaves to raise money for her required white shoes, her parents disappear, with only one hint: a note signed “The Enemy.” Madeline begins her journey as two rabbits, Mr. Bunny and Mrs. Bunny, try to help her succeed to find her parents. They come across very strange things, some annoying, like The Marmot, but in the end- does it work out? This book was amazingly adventurous and fun to read. It is not in any way babyish, and it’s very interesting. I hope you read it.

This book is not only action packed but suspenseful too. Every time you turn the page more and more surprises happen. The author (James Patterson) is very detailed and descriptive with every sentence he writes. No wonder the book has so many awards!

This book is good, but not outstanding. It is about a normal girl who is in high school, and has to move from Chicago to Ireland. As she goes through many hardships, she learns a lot, and I learned many lessons from it too. I would recommend this book to older readers as they can relate to the characters more.

The Revolution has started. The Districts versus the Capitol. Katniss Everdeen has become the Mockingjay, the symbol of hope for the Rebellion. Peeta Mellark has been captured. District Twelve has been destroyed by the Capitol. District Thirteen has always been there, but no one knew. Until now.
I really liked the ending of this book.
I loved this book, and would recommend it to girls and boys from ages 11-16.

This book was very mysterious and suspenseful. I enjoyed being kept in the dark about the secrets of the island and jumping at every new discovery. What made the book so interesting was the two main characters, Rives and Skye. Skye is headstrong but knows what she’s doing which makes the book interesting and engages me. Rives gets into dangerous situations which provides the action that I wanted.

This book was very exciting and intriguing. It conveyed the main character, Azra, thoughts and feelings very well. I love that Azra is very relatable as she is put in many humorous situations and has some very realistic problems. While there is a realistic side to this story, the part that I really liked was the magic. The magical mishaps are hilarious, where Azra is learning how to do magic. The magical aspect of the book was really what kept me reading because it was so interesting! I can’t wait till the author comes out with book two!
