The Hunger Games
5 out of 5
Panem is a country that is all that remains of a place that used to be called North America, separated into a perfect Capitol and twelve districts. The cruel Capitol forces each district to send two children between the ages of 12 and 18, one boy and one girl to compete in the annual Hunger Games, in which the twenty-four tributes from the districts fight for their lives until only one remains. When 12-year-old Primrose Everdeen’s name is called, her sister Katniss knows that their is no chance of Prim winning the games, and volunteers to fight in place of her sister.
I loved this book because of the way it was written, and because of the love story between Katniss, and her fellow tribute, Peeta Mellark. I would recommend it to girls and boys from ages 11 to 16.
